The multi-talented JOEY ARRIGO, is a dynamic force in the world of entertainment. Hailing from downtown Toronto, Joey is a dancer, acrobat, actor, teacher, and choreographer, leaving his mark on stages around the globe.
With a career as diverse as it is impressive, Joey has graced the stage with iconic productions such as Cirque du Soleil's "Volta" as the principal character "Waz" and Cirque du Soleil's "Kooza" as "The Trickster." His talents have also shone brightly with Shaping Sound Dance Company, Pro Arte Danza, Red Sky Performance, and Transcendance Project's immersive theatre productions, where he embodied characters like the Evil Queen in "A Grimm Night", Renfield in "Eve of St. George,” and most recently, Athena: Goddess of War and Wisdom in “Ophis,” for which he was nominated for Outstanding Individual at the 2025 DORA Awards.
Not limited to the stage, Joey's presence has also been felt on screens big and small. From appearing in "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" on Paramount Plus to Guillermo del Toro's "Cabinet of Curiosities," Joey's versatility as a performer knows no bounds. He has showcased his skills as a stunt double, featured dancer, and even as "Jerry, the Aerobic Vampire" in the hit series "What We Do in the Shadows." Recognized as one of Canada's top dancers on CTV's "So You Think You Can Dance Canada," Joey's talent has taken him worldwide, including guest appearances on Ukraine's "Everybody Dance" and Disney's "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure." Joey appeared on Canada’s Got Talent as an dancer surviving HIV, performing for the judges while advocating for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR) and promoting U=U to challenge stigma.
In addition to his impressive performance resume, Joey was the director and choreographer for Omar Antonio's Si'lat Fashion show with Wella Beauty at the Contessa Awards in Toronto and The Perfecto Show in Montreal, where he also performed as "The Gypsy." Joey is also making waves in the music industry, having released his debut song "Let It Crash" alongside Velvet Code in June 2023, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting musical journey. Joey just released his new hit club anthem “GET DOWN“, music video, and a series of remixes by DJs from across the globe in Spring 2024.
Joey believes in the power of storytelling to bring dance to a deeper place. He is known for having an immense technical understanding of the dancer’s instrument and came to realize storytelling must supersede the physical realm. Incorporating our truth of the human experience brings dance to a deeper; a spiritual level. Utilizing dance to express emotions brings the art form to a therapeutic level. Our bodies create joy, laughter, and tears; and furthermore, connect our audiences to these relatable experiences.
